EXHIBITIONS
Ajuntament Vell / The Old Town Hall: Until the 12th of December: Exhibition Historical narrations about the War of Succession. 1705-1714. Free entrance. Open: Tuesday to Saturday from 17.00 to 20.00 h. Sunday and bank holidays from 11.00 to 14.00 h. Closed on the 24th, 25th and 31st of December and the 1st and 6th of January.

Municipal Museum of Calella: Until 7th of January: Temporary exhibition 1714. There is no shadow left of the antique, entrance: 2 € (reduced entrance: 1 €). For reduced cost for groups please call 93 769 51 02. Also in the museum from the 13th of December till the 11th of January 2015: Visit the Christmas Manger, free entrance. Open Tuesday to Saturday 17.00 to 20.00 h. Sundays and bank holidays 11.00 to 14.00 h. Closed on the 24th, 25th, 31st of December and the 1st and 6th of January.

Public Library of Calella: From 20th of December till 31st of January: Exhibition Musics a l’Aplec: A photographic exhibition in honour of Calella as the host of the Sardana Capital 2015. (The sardana is the traditional dance of Catalonia). Open: Thursday and Friday from 10.00 to 13.00 h and Saturday from 10.00 to 13.30 h. Open in the afternoons Monday to Friday from 16.00 to 20.30 h.

The Cooperativa l’Amistat (street of Amadeu, 55):From the 20th of December till the 6th of January: Manger and Nativity Exhibition. Open: weekdays from 18.00 to 20.00 h; bank holidays from 18.30 to 21.00 h.

ACTIVITIES
The Christmas Market:
At the Plaça de l’Església/Main Church Square, from the 5th until the 14th of December. Opening times: Fridays from 17.00 to 22.00 hours and Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays from 10.00 to 22.00 hours, with artisan’s products and food tasting of traditional central European Christmas foods.

Solidarity Christmas toy collection for children in need:
Should you wish to contribute a toy for solidarity from the 15th until the 24th of December you can leave it at the Llobet Gurí Factory on the main road from 09.00 to 13.00 h. We ask for new or nearly new toys that have no relation to war and are non-sexist. This is organized by the Red Cross and the Town Hall and all contributions will be greatly appreciated.

10.30 – 13.00 h, Riera de Capaspre: Flashmob for the Marathon in aid of Heart Problems.
18.00 h, at the town hall: Official switching on of the city Christmas Lights.
22.00 h, in the Sala Mozart (next to the cinema): Jam-Session, free entrance.
SATURDAY, 6TH OF DECEMBER
20.00 h, in the Llobet-Guri Factory on the main road: Children’s mini disco and animation.
21.00 h, in the Llobet-Guri Factory on the main road: Young people’s night for the marathon in aid of combating heart conditions, free entrance, snacks at popular prices and live music.

12.00 – 13.00h, at the Nautical Club: Inauguration of the Manger and singing of Christmas carols. Open from 10.00 to 20.00 h.
12.30 h, at the Public Library: Singing of Christmas carols.
17.30 h, In the Museum: Inauguration of the Museum Manger and Christmas carols.
08.30 h, in the old town hall/Ajuntament Vell: Inauguration of the Manger of Calella.
21.30 h, in the Hotel Santa Monica: Supper for the Marathon in aid of Heart Disease. Different acts and a surprise show. Tickets on sale at the following points: Perruqueria Concepció Gelmà, Taller Lluís Martí, Gèneres de Punt Villaret, Queviures Gelmà-Casas. Cost: 15€.
23.00 h, in the Llobet-Guri Factory: Calella Autumn Nights 2014 with a DJ Competition.

SUNDAY, 14TH OF DECEMBER
09.00 h, Sponsored Walk for the Marathon in aid of heart disease: Starting point at the football pitch by the sea and finishing at the plaça de Catalunya. Cost: 5 €, snack included.
10.00 h, at the Plaça de Catalunya: activities for the Marathon in aid of heart disease.
17.00 h, at the Church Square/plaça de l’Església: Different children’s activities for the Marathon in aid of heart disease.

MONAY, 15TH OF DECEMBER
21.30 h, at the Calella Lighthouse: In celebration of the lighthouse’s 155th anniversary music and cake for everyone.

FRIDAY, 19TH OF DECEMBER
22.00 h, in the Sala Mozart (next to the cinema): Christmas Jazz concert. Free entrance.

SATURDAY, 20TH OF DECEMBER
11.30-13.30h & 18.00-20.00h: on the main shopping street of Calella: Mickey Noel Walkabout.
13.00 h, in the Public Library: inauguration of the Exhibtion “Músics a l’Aplec” in honour of Calella as the 2015 capital of the Sardana. The Sardana is Catalonia’s national dance.
19.00 h, in the Casal l’Amistat (street of Amadeu, 55): XXV Exhibition of Mangers, until the 6th of January. Open weekdays from 18.00 to 20.00 h and bank holidays from 18.30 to 21.00 h.
20.00 h, in the old part of town (town hall area): First representation of the live Nativity Scene.

18.00 h, at the Church Square: “caga tió” monumental (a traditional Catalan event) where children find presents under the “caga tio” after hitting it with a stick.

12.00 h, at the beach: XVIII Christmas swim.
20.00 h, in the church of the school “Escola Pia” (street of Sant Pere, 120): Christmas Concert.

FRIDAY, 26TH OF DECEMBER
11.00 h, arrival of the Page boys of the Three Kings of Orient who will go to the chapel at the “Escola Pia” school (Street of Sant Pere, 120) to collect the letters from the children of Calella.
11.00 – 15.00 h, in the playground of the “Escola Pia” (Street of Sant Pere, 120), children’s play zone with activities and inflatable bouncy castles, for children of up to 8 years of age.

WEDNESDAY, 31ST OF DECEMBER
18.00 h, main shopping Street (c. Esglèsia) : Parade of a traditional Catalan figure “l’Home dels Nassos” (the Nose Man).
05.00 – 9.00 h (1-1-2015), opening of the lighthouse to see the sunrise accompanied by music and also chocolate and churros for all. Limited capacity.

THURSDAY, 1ST OF JANUARY
19.00 h, in the Calella Theatre (street of Església, 249), representation of a traditional Christmas play “The little Shepherds”: The star of Nazareth (please note that this is only in the Catalan language). Tickets can be purchased one hour before the play at the theatre ticket box.

FRIDAY, 2ND OF JANUARY
17.00 – 20.00 h, on the main church square/plaça de l’Església: Children’s clown activities with Krustó & Piruleta.
19.00 h, in the public library: the pageboys of the three Kings from Orient will collect the children’s letters to take to the kings and tell stories (in Catalan language).

SATURDAY, 3RD OF JANUARY
18.00 – 20.00 h, main shopping street of Calella: parade of children’s animation characters.
20.00 h, in the beautiful small Chapel of Saint Quirze & Saint Julita: Solidarity concert in aid of collecting food for the food bank, the entrance cost is a food product.

SUNDAY, 4TH OF JANUARY
18.00 h, in the Calella Theatre (street of Església, 249), representation of a traditional Christmas play “The little Shepherds”: The star of Nazareth (please note that this is only in the Catalan language). Tickets can be purchased one hour before at the theatre ticket box.

MONDAY, 5TH OF JANUARY
18.00 h, at the riera de Capaspre: The arrival of the Three Kings from Orient and start of the great parade of the Three Kings. Different activities will also take place when they arrive, after the parade, at the Town Hall square/Plaça Ajuntament, where human castles will be formed under the balcony of the town hall and then all the children will be go into the old town hall (Ajutnament Vell) to be greeted by the three kings.
Parade itinerary: streets of Jovara, chapel of Sant Quirze & Saint Julita, Indústria, Església, Balmes, Bruguera, Sant Joan, Església, Romaní, Bisbe Sivilla i plaça de l’Ajuntament.

SUNDAY, 11TH OF JANUARY
